While I was growing up, I distinctly remember late January into early February being the coldest and snowiest time of the year. Some years since then, the atmosphere had other ideas and it was way too warm or just didn’t want to bring us snow. This year has been fairly ideal for snow, which arrived shortly before Christmas, and came back on the 17th of January (about 3”). Then it snowed again on the 18th, with another 3”. There’s something about being outside in fresh, undisturbed snow with no wind. The epitome of peaceful.
